Piet Martins

Piet is a Partner & Managing Director of Construction at Milost Global Inc. He is responsible for acquisitions, development, expansion, investments and management of the Construction portfolio. As a Civil engineer he has over 40 years of operational management experience as executive in the construction industry in South Africa, SADC and Mauritius. Port is a former Managing Director of Group 5, a JSE traded Company and one of the largest construction companies in South Africa, a position he held for 14 years until 2006. He then moved on to join Murray & Roberts, the largest construction company in South Africa as an Executive Director, a position which he held for over 5 years.

Apart from important achievements being Managing Director for 30 years, President of the Master Builders of South Africa in 2000, he was nominated continuously for Excellence (1995), Chief-Executive (1996), NPI Gold Award for outstanding achievement in Productivity Gauteng Housing Award (1998), Special Recognition Award (2005) and for the Nova Vida City Development in Luanda, Angola 2002. He is also acknowledged as Housing Entrepreneur by David S. Fick in his Book “Entrepreneurs in Africa” in 2002. While acting as President in 2000 he initiated and supported the first Black consortium!

Piet is known as Industry Leader because of his depth and breadth of experience managing major construction projects such as high rise buildings, residential developments, commercial projects (hotels and shopping centres) ,office blocks, government buildings, various hospitals and industrial projects . Work also included infrastructure, bridges, various mining work on primary crushers, water towers, reservoirs, cement plants & power stations! Some World famous projects include Green Point Stadium, 7 Star Taj Hotel and Crystal Towers in Cape Town, Sheraton and Holiday Inn in Johannesburg. Well known is the Palace at Lost City. New Diamond sorting facility in Botswana. Big shopping centres like Gateway, Galleria, Melrose Arch and Bedford Square.

Piet is consulted regularly by overseas clients on his experience for work done in Africa (SADC), Angola, Cameroon, Chad, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Work varied from infrastructure, hospitals, Embassies, Cities, PPP’s, pipelines, Power stations, Lodges, Hotels, shopping centres and others.
